Maggie Jennings, MS, LCMHC, RPT

Hello!

I am so glad you are here!! My name is Maggie and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. I also hold the certification of a Registered Play Therapist. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in psychology at The University of Alabama and my Master’s of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

As a play therapist, my main focus is to support families with young children. I work with children struggling with anxiety, depression, and transitions. I specialize in working with highly sensitive children. In my practice, I ensure we are looking at the entire family system, not just the child. I utilize child centered therapy and child-parent relationship therapy (CPRT) in my holistic and personalized approach to each child and their family.

I work with kiddos as young as 3. I have a passion for working with preschoolers and elementary aged children! I also see adolescents and teens and will incorporate activity therapy and expressive arts into our work together.

When not working you can find me spending as much time outside as possible! Usually on a walk with my husband, daughter and our dog Moose that we adopted 5 years ago. He is wild and we love him so much! We fostered puppies during the start of the pandemic and love supporting animal rescues in any way we can. I am a native Charlottean, recently moved back and am loving getting re-immersed in the community!
